Kareo said it will be helping medical practices participate in existing and future Veterans Affairs program, by making it easier for practices to sign up for the VA's electronic claims processing system. Kareo said it would be assisting medical practices with a new guide, checklist, and other assistance services in the effort. Novatel Wireless Selected By Remote Tracking Provider ---- San Diego-based Novatel Wireless, which develops wireless modules and related products for connecting devices to wireless data networks, said it has been selected by telemetry and remote tracking provider Premier Wireless Solutions. Size and impact of the win was not disclosed. Novatel said that PWS is using the company's SA 2100, M2M device, which is designed for use in telemetry applications. Los Angeles County Moving To Microsoft Office 365 ---- The County of Los Angeles is in a big information technology deal, and will be moving about 100,000 of its employees to Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft said this week. The company--which was founded by Jonathan Skogmo--said that Boonstra was most recently at Frequency, and also served at CNET. Tran has been at Viacom and Fourth Wall Studios. The company said that both will work on its licensing platform, which the company uses to streamline and automate the licensing process for trending content. Jukin Media works to help license viral video content, which it publishes both on its own YouTube channels as well as licenses to news outlets, TV morning shows, clip shows, and others. Black Lotus Expands DDoS Resources In Virginia, Amsterdam ---- Los Angeles- and San Francisco-based Black Lotus Communications, which offers up distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) mitigation services to SMB and enterprise clients, said this week that it has opened up two new centers in Ashburn, Virginia, and Amsterdam, Netherlands. TechShop announced the initiative as part of the "Maker Faire" being held at the White House today, which is being hosted by President Obama. TechShop--which already runs spaces across the Bay Area, Michigan, Texas, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Virginia--also said it will be opening up a new location in St. Louis.
