According to XCOR, SXC had been its general sales agent for XCOR Lynx flight sales. Novatel said it has named Tom Allen, who was previously EVP, Chief Operating Officer, and CFO for Outdoor Channel Holdings, as its new CFO. Allen also was co-founder of ACME Communications, and has served at Virgin Interactive Entertainment and Fox Broadcasting Company. Novatel Wireless is a developer of wireless communications modules. Chatsworth-based Logicube, which makes all kinds of hardware made for hard drive duplication and electronic forensics, said today that it has launched a new, 8-target hard drive wiper which wipes out eight hard drives at once. The company said it snew device, the ZX-Tower, handles SAS, SATA, USB, and IDE drives--along with other formats--and is aimed at companies and organizations which have to meet stringent HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Those requirements mean that companies have to ensure they have completely wiped out data on computers before either disposing of them or selling them as surplus to others. TapZen Raises $8M From Tencent ---- Los Angeles-based mobile game developer TapZen disclosed last week that it has raised $8M in a funding round from Tencent Holdings Ltd. The company recently launched its first title, "This Means War!". TapZen was founded by Mike Verdu and Amir Rahimi. This Means War! runs on iOS, and allows game players to control their own army of tanks, troops, helicopters and bombers. The deal was worth a total of $18M, made up of $15M in an initial payment and up to $3M in earn out. Pulpo Media is an online, digital advertising products and technology company focused on Hispanics in the U.S. and Latin America. The company is based in Berkeley. Siemer & Associates said it advised Pulpo Media in the deal. Buy.com Exec Moves To Monoprice ---- Rancho Cucamonga-based Monoprice, which sells a line of branded consumer electronics and accessories, has snagged former Buy.com/Rakuten.com Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer Bernard W.
