The funding was led by Morningside Ventures, and also included Mercury Fund, Targeted Technology Fund and others. DNAtrix say sit is modifying a common cold virus so that it specifically targets and kills cancer cells. The company's lead product, DNX-2401, is in late stage clinical trials. As part of the funding, Reenie McCarthy of Morningside joins the company's board. Sony Pictures Entertainment Gets Massive EV Charging Install ---- Have an electric vehicle, but always fighting for a charging station at work? It might be time to get a job over at Sony Pictures Entertainment, which apparently has installed the largest, corporate deployment of charging stations in Southern California. The company says it has created a "virtual personalized card" which allows users to shop for products, earn rewards, and share purchase details with friends. The new card is allows for purchases at such companies at Forever 21, Saks Fifth Avenue, NastyGal, Urban Outfitters, Lululemon, Nike, TopShop, Neiman Marcus, J.Crew, Abercrombie, Victoria’s Secret, Bluefly. The company is led by Tina Hay, and was part of the Stubbs Alderton & Markiles, LLP Preccelerator Program; the company is backed by Tom Dolby and other investors. Evolve Media Debuts In-Video Ads ---- Los Angeles-based Evolve Media--the parent company of CraveOnline and TotallyHer--has rolled out a brand new video ad product, the company said today. The company said its new INglibe offering will provide premium, in-view video ads, which rolls out a video player when people roll past an article. The company said its new advertising offering will reach over 100 million monthly impressions across its enthusiast sites. Emulex Gets Design Win With HP ---- Costa Mesa-based Emulex reported a win with HP, saying that it has rolled out a new set of I/O connectivity products for the HP ProLiant Gen9 rack and blade servers. The new products include 10/20 Gigabit Ethernet networking adapters, LAN on Motherboard modules, and Fibre Channel HBAs specifically designed for those servers. Financial impact of the deal were not announced. Donuts Hits One Million Domain Registrations ---- Donuts Inc., the generic top level domain (gTLD) registrar which has an office in Los ANgeles, said today that it has just registered its one millionth Internet address. The registration comes less than ten months since Donuts started accepting new domain registrations. Donuts said that there are now almost 2.7 million registrations for gTLDs globally. Donuts has operations and a number of executives in Los Angeles from the domain name industry. Cosmederm Gets $50M ---- San Diego-based Cosmederm, which is developing aesthetic medicines aimed at dermatology and pain management, said Monday that it has raised $50M in a funding round. The funding came from Woodford Investment Management, a UK-based investment company. The company said it will use the funding to accelerate growth of its brands, as well as for its drug development programs.
