Well, apparently, AT&T is no longer offering up Beats Music subscription to its new customers, according to Macrumors. The Mac news site says that AT&T no longer gives customers the option to sign up for Beats Music when signing up for a new phone pkan, the Beats Music website has removed its "subscribe with AT&T" option, and AT&T employees have been told to stop selling those subscriptions to customers. The launch of Beats Music came in February, however, the relationship looks to have been shortened by the acquisition of Beats Music by Apple in May. http://www.socaltech.com/beats_music_on_at_t_we_hardly_knew_ye/s-0057421.html Spreeify Launches New Mobile Ad Product ---- Los Angeles-based Spreeify, the developer of display ad technology which is led by Ruben Dua, has rolled out a new product aimed at the mobile market. According to the company, it has launched its Mobile Rich Media Ad Platform, a product which helps advertisers maximize their mobile ad dollars, with tools for ad authoring, a creative library, and analytics engine. Spreeify said its product works with major ad servers (DoubleClick, Sizmek, OpenX, AppNexus), DSPs (Rubicon Project, Turn, RocketFuel, DataXu, TheTradeDesk) and publishers (AOL, Yahoo, Pandora, MSN), and is already being used by such customers as JustFab, Sony and Papyrus. Pricing on the new tool was not announced. Phorus Debuts New Wireless Home Audio Speaker ---- Encino-based Phorus, the developer of wireless home audio speaker technology which is now owned by DTS, said it has launched a new product called the Phorus PS5. The new speaker lets users stream audio from their iOS, Android, and Windows PCs to multiple rooms over Wi-Fi. The company is promoting the new speaker line with a music video from the group Run River North. Phorus said the new speaker will be available in December directly from the firm, from Amazon.com, and other retailers, for $229. DTS has mostly been using Phorus as a demonstration platform for its DTS Play-Fi technology, which it licenses to many other speaker and audio manufacturers. will.i.am Launches His Own Wearable Smartband, The i.amPULS ---- Los Angeles-based musician will.i.am--best known as a founding member of the Black Eyed Peas--has rolled out his own, wearable smart band, called the i.amPULS, aimed at letting users make and receive calls without the need for a cell phone. will.i.am rolled out the new device at an industry conference for Salesforce.com, Dreamforce 2014. will.i.am said the new device will also offer up a "intelligent personal assistant"--courtesy Nuance COmmunications--which will dictate text and emails, play music, post to social media, and more. The new smart band also will include a fitness application. No details on pricing or availability were announced. FreedomVoice Bolsters Executive Team ---- Encinitas-based cloud communications service provider FreedomVoice said Wednesday that it has named three new people to its executive team. The company--which provides its systems to small and mid-sized businesses--said it added Cedar Coleman as Director of Customer Care, Nitin Tomar as the Product Director, and Kim Kleber as Director of Marketing. Coleman joins from GoDaddy.com, Tomar from Radisys, and Kleber from Qualcomm. FreedomVoice is led by Eric Thomas, and says it is on target to double its revenues in its next fiscal year. Microsemi Hits Shipping Milestone ---- Aliso Viejo-based chipmaker Microsemi Corporation said this morning that it has hit a major shipping milestone, and has now shipped over 1 billion voice line circuits. The company said the number comes after more than three decades in the field. The company develops voice line circuits used for voice-over-IP, broadband gateways, and other applications. Microsemi says it has over 65 percent of the market share for those components. Snapchat: Third Party Apps A Threat To Community ---- Venice, California-based instant messaging app developer Snapchat--in light of the massive breach of compromising photos leaked from the service via an unauthorized, third party service---reiterated Tuesday that third party apps are a threat to the community.
