Taco Bell said it will let users order and pay for food at the restaurant using either a new iOS or Android mobile ordering app. Taco Bell said its new app lets users custom order ingredients and pay for orders, which can be picked up through drive through or a separate line within the store. Much of the functionality of the new app come thanks to the efforts of Tillster--led by Perse Faily--which develops mobile, kiosk, and other ordering systems and software for quick serve restaurants. TYLT Rolls Out Wireless Car Charging Mount ---- Los Angeles-based electronics accessory maker TYLT has rolled out a pair of new wireless charging product Tuesday. Those products include a wireless car charging mount, which combines wireless charging with a place to put your smartphone or tablet while driving, and a standalone wireless charging pad called the VU SOLO. TYLT's VU Wireless Charging Car Mount is a car mount which supports up to 5.7 inch displays and also includes a built in, wireless charging pad with support for the Qi wireless charging standard. TYLT said it is targeting owners of such devices as the Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo, Google Nexus 6 and Lumia 830 with the new products. The charging pad costs $39.99 and the car mount costs $79.99. iRise Offers Up Software To Local Universities ---- El Segundo-based iRise, which develops enterprise visualization software used by companies for developing their internal applications, said yesterday that it has started offering up its software to students at two local universities. iRise said it will provide software licenses to students at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (CPP), via those schools' graphic design and arts departments. iRise said those students will not only use their software as part of courses, but will be eligible for certification by iRise at the end of the program. iRise develops software which helps companies design corporate applications without software coding. Edmunds.com Buys Hackathon Winner CarCodeSMS ---- Los Angeles-based Edmunds.com said Tuesday that it has acquired CarCodeSMS, a developer of mobile service to allow car shoppers to engage in one-on-one text messaging with dealers. Size of the investment was not announced. According to Tinder, Benchmark takes an undisclosed equity stake in the company and also has added Matt Cohler to Tinder's board of directors. Tinder, which is led by Sean Rad, had been entirely owned by Match Group/IAC. The round was led by Hearst Ventures, and also included the company's prior investors. As part of the funding, George Kliavkoff of Hearst Entertainment & Syndication joins the company's board. ScoreBig helps sports teams, live event venues, and others sell unsold tickets using a reverse auction. The company said it more than doubled its revenues this year.
