Takehollywood offers up a large library of videos where actors, acting coaches, agents, casting directors, directors, and producers provide their advice on a wide range of areas. Financial details of the link between the companies were not announced. Gem Bolsters Security Partnerships ---- Venice, California-based Bitcoin security developer Gem said Wednesday that it has bolstered its security partnerships, via a link with companies Thales e-Security, CryptoSigma, and Bitmo. Gem, which is led by Micah Winkelspecht, said the link adds support for custom Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) to offer up military-grade protection of encryption keys. Financial details of the partnerships were not disclosed. The companies said that Thales' hardware has been used by the traditional payments industry for years. SEKUR.me Looks To Connect With Mobile Commerce Firms ---- Santa Ana-based SEKUR.me, a startup developing multi-factor, mobile authentication and payment technology, said today that it has launched a new Strategic Alliance program to help enable mobile e-commerce payments. The startup, led by Jack Bicer, said it is aiming at telecoms, financial institutions, social media, smartphone manufacturers, healthcare, and large systems integrators. The company said its product helps enable secure, mobile payments on iOS and Android. Payoff Adds Arianna Huffington To Board ---- Costa Mesa-based Payoff, the consumer financial services firm led by Scott Saunders, said Wednesday that it has added Arianna Huffington to its board of directors. Payoff said that Huffington joins Mohamed El-Erian (Former CEO, Pimco), Joe Saunders (Former CEO, Visa), Sean Park (Founder & Chairman, Anthemis Group), Jim Lane (Former Partner, Goldman Sachs), and Scott Saunders (Founder & CEO, Payoff) on the company's board. Payoff offers up an online service to consolidate a consumer's credit card bills, and is backed by El-Erian along with other investors. Shasta's Flynn Gets Promotion After String Of Silicon Beach Investments ---- Venture capital investment firm Shasta Ventures said Wednesday that it has promoted Sean Flynn--who has been key to that firm's many investments in Southern California--to Managing Director. Flynn sits on the boards of Los Angeles-based startups TigerText and ZEFR, was involved in Shasta Ventures' investment in Dollar Shave Club, and also has backed Whisper, along with Brian Lee's flower startup, H. Bloom. Flynn focuses on early-stage investments on mobile-enabled consumer Internet and enterprise software startups.
