Events.com: Creating A New Events Management Software Giant, with Gregg Parise
----

Is the world ready for another event management software provider?
San Diego's Events.com (www.events.com) thinks so, saying it is
prepared to create a new platform—built in the social and mobile
age—designed to help manage all kinds of events, in a way which has
been completely overlooked by the incumbent event registration and
management providers. Gregg Parise, the CEO of the company, sat down
to talk to us about the company's launch. Gregg also spoke to us about
how the move of Active Network out of San Diego—-a huge dislocation
for the local high tech community—actually benefited Events.com, by

Surf Air Plans Expansion: Four New Cities, More Planes
----
Los Angeles-based membership airline Surf Air is planning an expansion
into four new cities, saying over the weekend that it will add Santa
Rosa, Monterey, Sacramento, and Palm Springs to its routes, and also
plans to double its fleet and frequency of flights. Surf Air said it
will have 13 planes and up to 90 daily dates by the end of the year.
The airline charges $1,750 per month for its membership plans, which
allows members to fly as much as they want, and skipping the long
lines and security checks of commercial terminals, and instead letting
users depart from less crowded airports and private aviation
terminals.

Ichor Medical Systems Gets $85M From Janssen Pharmaceuticals

said the deal, which was facilitated by Johnson & Johnson Innovation,
the two will work together to develop and commercialize DNA-based
