TrueCar: More Than Half Of Users Now On Smartphones, Tablets
----
Santa Monica-based car buying and selling marketplacce TrueCar says
that more than half of the consumers coming to the service are now
using either a smartphone or tablet. TrueCar detailed the information
in the announcement of the launch of a new product, TrueCash, which
offers up personalized incentives from manufacturers and dealers, and
also features high resolution photographs, embedded video, and more to
help manufacturers showcase their brands. According to TrueCar, it saw
more than 2.2 million downloads of its mobile app on iOS and Android
as of the first quarter of 2015.

Cornerstone OnDemand Rolls Out New Products
----
Santa Monica-based talent management software developer Cornerstone
OnDemand has launched two new products this morning, including a new
predictive analytics dashboard and a cloud platform aimed at
developers. Cornerstone OnDemand said  that its Cornerstone Insights
product uses machine learning and big data to help businesses better
hire, train, manage, and retain their top talent. The new Cornerstone
Edge product is a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) specifically aimed at
developers, to help them create web and mobile applications which
leverage Cornerstone OnDemand's talent management data. Cornerstone
OnDemand is led by Adam Miller.

Imprimis Pharmaceuticals Finds $15M In Debt
----
San Diego-based Imprimis Pharmaceuticals, a company developing
compounded drugs, said thiss morning that it has scored $15M in a term
loan. The debt funding came rom Life Sciences Alternative Funding LLC.
According to Imprimis, the funding will go towards expansion and
growth of the company's opthallogy and urology business. The company
said the loan has an interest rate of 12.5 percent per year and
monthly, interest-only payments for the first three years. Imprimis is
led by Mark L. Baum.

Rowl Acquires Open Me
----
Santa Monica-based event discovery app startup Rowl said Monday that
it has acquired Open Me, a company which provides e-greeting cards and
birthday and holiday reminders. Rowl said it paid $6M, consisting of
10 million shares of its common stock at $0.60 per share, for Open Me,
which has around 140,000 daily active users. Open Me was venture
backed by MySpace (Science, MySpace), Pritzker Group Venture Capital,
United Talent Agency, Sky, along with others. Open Me was co-founded
by Ilya Pozin.

WiSpry Acquired By Hong Kong Company
----
Irvine-based RF semiconductor developer WiSpry has been acquired by a
Hong Kong-based electronics manufacturer, AAC Technologies, the two
said this morning. Financial terms of the acquisition were not
disclosed. WiSpry is a developer of tunable, MEMs-based radio
frequency semiconductors used for antenna tuning and filtering.  The
companies said WiSpry will continue to develop its RF MEMS products as
a subsidiary of AAC Technologies. WiSpry was venture backed by Acadia
Woods Partners, American River Ventures, Arkian, Blueprint Ventures,
Chart Venture Partners, DoCoMo Capital, Hotung Venture Capital,
In-Q-Tel, L Capital Partners, MuRata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Paladin
Capital, Shepherd Ventures, Sid R. Bass Associates, the
Tech Coast Angels, and Western Technology Investment.

Grindr Seeks Sale, Says Report
----
Los Angeles-based dating app and website developer Grindr is looking
for a buyer, according to Bloomberg. Bloomberg said that Grindr has
hired investment banker Raine Group to advise the company on a sale.
Grindr was founded by Joel Simkhai.

Wag! Finds $2.45M For Dog Walking Marketplace
----
Los Angeles-based Wag!, the developer of a mobile, on-demand
marketplace to find dog walkers, said last week that it has raised
$2.45M in a seed funding round. The funding came from Freestyle
Capital, Greylock, Crunchfund, Slow Ventures, Social Leverage, and RRE
Ventures. Wag develops an app which lets users instantly find someone
to walk their dog. The startup, led by Josh Viner, said it will use
the funds to open up services in San Francisco and for further market
expansion. Wag said it costs $20 per dog for each half hour walk, plus
an additional $5 per dog in the same household; the company's app lets
users track their dog during their walk, with a map of the walk,
pictures, and a behavior report. The company said it launched at the
beginning of the year in LA.
