Illumina did not announced the financial details of the acquisition. GenoLogics becomes part of Illumina's Enterprise Informatics business. Illumina said that GenoLogics' software is currently used by over 120 genomic labs to manage lab samples. IQMS Raises $40M More ---- Paso Robles-based IQMS, a developer of manufacturing ERP software, announced late Tuesday that it has raised $40M more in an investment round. The funding came from Technology Crossover Ventures and Bannekar Partners. According to IQMS, the new funding brings its total raised over the past year to $75M. As part of the funding round, IQMS said it has appointed Gary Nemmers as the company's new CEO; Nemmers was previously at HighJump. IQMS founder Randy Flamm becomes Chief Product Officer, and continues on as Chairman. http://www.socaltech.com/intelligence/index.php?action=showdeal&id=66260 Virtium Gets Growth Investment For Solid State Drives ---- Rancho Santa Margarita-based Virtium, a developer of embedded and industrial solid state drives (SSDs), said today that it has scored a round of growth investment. Size of the funding was not announced. The funding came from L Squared Capital Partners. Virtium, which is led by Phu Hoang, said it will use the funding to grow its application engineering and SSD firmware development team. Pledgeling said that Citron replaces CEO and Founder Matt Minnis, who becomes Chairman of the Board. Citron was previously CEO of mobile messaging and marketing firm Outspoken, and prior to that, was CEO and founder of Mogreet, which was acquired in 2013. Pledgeling has raised $4.1M in funding from Double M Partners, along with TV's Vanna White and Chris Harrison. The company allows users to make donations as small as $5 to charities from either their smartphone or the web. http://www.socaltech.com/pledgeling_names_ceo/s-0061343.html Netflix Announces Unlimited Maternity, Paternity Leave ---- Movie rental and streaming service Netflix said Tuesday afternoon that it will provide unlimited maternity and paternity leave to its employees, during the first year after a child's birth or adoption. Netflix--which has a significant employee presence in Los Angeles--said the move is part of its move to make sure it can compete for and keep the "most talented individuals in their field". According to Tawni Cranz, Chief Talent Officer at Netflix, the company gives its employees the freedom to make their own decisions--with accompanying responsibility. Local ID said it has named Mahesh Angadi as Chief Product Officer and Franklyn Farace as its Chief Revenue Officer. Angadi was previously at Omniture, and also served at PubMatic. Farace was previously Vice President, Retail Solutions at Coupons Inc., also also has been at Valassis. Local ID offers up data and tools to help brands optimize their local marketing, and is venture backed by Crosscut Ventures, Technicolor, TenOneTen, Baroda Ventures, Double M Partners, Tallwave, Wavemaker Partners and Queens Bridge Venture Partners. Chewse Picks Up $5.9M For Office Catering ---- Chewse, a startup which helps companies manage their office food and meal programs--and counts Pivotal Labs, TasteMade, OpenX, Factual, and Big Frame as customers--said it has raised $5.9M in a Series A investment. The company--which got its start in Santa Monica, but has now moved to San Francisco--said the funding came from The Foundry Group, and also included Andy Appelbaum (Seamless), 500 Startups, Galvanize, and Telegraph Hill Capital. The Series A funding round was led by Northzone, and also included Korea Investment Partners, Upfront Ventures, Sunstone Capital and Daher Capital. Seriously said it has now raised $28M in funding. The new funding specifically goes to building out the company's production teams and marketing.
