Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. HEAT Software is a portfolio company of Clearlake Capital, and is based in Milpitas. Absolute Manage's business are used by organizations to manage and secure mobile and endpoint devices, ranging from PCs and Macs, to iOS, Android and Windows mobile devices. Lomics Rolls Out Mobile App For Making Your Life A Comic ---- Did you ever wish you could tell the story of your life as a comic strip? A new, San Diego startup, Lomics, said this morning that it has rolled out a mobile app which lets you capture yourself on camera, and create a comic--complete with speech and thought bubbles--where you can tell your own story. The startup said the app lets users shoot videos, which the app automatically frames and turns into live comics. The app is initially available on iOS. Lomics said it is angel backed by Neurok LLC angel group. Netflix started making the first season of the series available on its service this weekend, throughout the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Netflix has significant operations in Los Angeles. BlackLine Names Chief Legal Officer ---- Los Angeles-based accounting and finance software developer BlackLine announced this morning that it has named Karole Morgan-Prager as the company's new Chief legal Officer. Morgan-Prager joins from The McClatchy Company, where she was vice president of corporate development, general counsel and corporate secretary. She previously also served at The Times Mirror Company and Morrison & Foerster, and has been on the boards of The Seattle Times Company, CareerBuilder, Classified Ventures and HomeFinder. Sequenom Swaps CEO ---- San Diego-based life sciences company Sequenom has named Dirk van den Boom as its new Interim President and CEO, the company announced today, after its current CEO, William J. Welch, resigned. Sequenom said Welch has resigned to "pursue other interests." van den Boom is currently Sequenom's Chief Scientific and Strategy Officer, a position he continues to hold. Portfolium Picks Up $1.2M To Showcase Students To Employers ---- San Diego-based Portfolium, which develops a cloud-based service to help students showcase their student projects to prospective employers, has raised $1.2M in a seed funding round. The funding came from University Ventures, Seed San Diego, and Vertical Venture Partners. Portfolium is looking to help employers better understand the potential of student applicants, who typically lack the employment history that hiring managers rely on to help evaluate candidates. The company, which is led by Adam Markowitz, says it is looking to help students get a better start to their careers; the company provides its systems to university career centers. Portfolium is based at the EvoNexus startup accelerator.
