The prize competition is challenging teams to create ocean technology for rapid, unmanned and high-resolution ocean exploration and discovery. TrueCar said the new car buying service will provide and end-to-end vehicle research and purchase experience, including new vehicle pricing information and access to TrueCar's network of dealers. Financial impact of the deal were not announced. The companies said that consumers can access the new car buying service at multiple entry points at CarandDriver.com, including the make and model, review, and article pages. According to Ingenu, it is serving the entire 2,500 mile Tampa Bay network area with 16 access points to its RPMA (Random Phase Multiple Access) communications technology network. Ingenu did not say if it has any customers using the network in Tampa Bay. Zadara Wins ContractPal ---- Irvine-based storage-as-a-service provider Zadara Storage said this week that its systems and service have been deployed at ContractPal, a provider of e-signature services and software. Financial impact of the win was not announced. Zadara said that ContractPal is using its VPSA storage array architecture, because of it's support for at-rest and in-flight data encryption, disaster recovery and data protection, and snapshot, remote mirroring, and backup capabilities. Hyperloop One Gains $50M In New Funding ---- Los Angeles-based transportation technology developer HyperLoop One disclosed on Thursday afternoon that it has raised $50M in new funding, from DP World Group of Dubai. The startup--which is attempting to bring Elon Musk's idea for the "Hyperloop" system to life, said it has added a representative from DP World Group to its board. Hyperloop One had announced a deal in August to help move containers from ships at sea to a new inland port in Dubai. Soylent Recalls New Soylent Bar ---- In an inauspicious start for the newest product from Los Angeles-based alternative food startup Soylent, the company said last night that it is recalling all of its new "Soylent Bar" products, and asking its customers to "discard any remaining bars in their possession". The company said the recall comes after a "small number" of its customers have "experienced gastrointestinal issues" after consuming the bar. Soylent just launched the new product a month ago. Soylent said the issue "does not appear" to affect its other drinks and powder.
