Loot Crate had a 66,661% five year growth rate, the highest nationwide. Among the many Southern California startups on the list were #4, SearchMarketers.com (based in Irvine), with a 16,547% growth rate; #12, San Diego's Imprimis Pharmaceuticals (9,616%); #25, Dollar Shave Club (4,186%); #33, Render Media (3,238%); #35, Cognitive Medical Systems (2,997%); #39, Tandem Diabetes Care (2,843%); #40, Crowdstrike (2,665%); #51, San Diego's Cireson (2,152%); and #55, The Trade Desk (1,836%). There were a lot more of the region's technology companies farther down the extensive list. http://www.socaltech.com/loot_crate_tops_deloitte_technology_fast___/s-0068162.html Bridg Aims At Restaurants With New CRM Software ---- Los Angeles-based software developer Bridg said this week that it has launched a new customer relationship management (CRM) software product specifically aimed at restaurants. According to the company, it is using information from point-of-sale (POS), email, loyalty, online ordering, and other areas to help give restaurants a single, unified view of their individual customers, and helps those restaurants identify growth opportunities based on that data. Bridg, which is led by Amit Jain, said its new software also integrates and synchronizes with the restaurant industry's most popular POS systems, email marketing services, loyalty programs and online ordering platforms. Express Logic Opens Office In Massachusetts ---- San Diego-based real time operating systems developer Express Logic announced this week that it has opened up a brand new sales office, about 25 miles outside of Boston. The company said the new office will help it to serve markets on the East Coast. Express Logic is the maker of the ThreadX RTOS (real time operating system) software and associated software. The company did not say how many people will be based at the new office, which will provide both sales and support. SpaceX Wins $112M Contract From NASA ---- NASA announced late Tuesday that it has selected Hawthorne-based Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX), for a $112M mission to launch a water survey mission to space in April of 2021. According to NASA, SpaceX will provide launch services for the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission, which is expected to launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base, north of Lompoc. NASA said the SWOT will collect detailed masurements of how water bodies on Earth change over time, including monitoring lakes, rivers, reservoirs, and oceans, at least twice ever 21 days.
