Los Angeles-based on-demand, dog walking marketplace Wag! said this morning
that it is opening up a new, "customer care" center in Phoenix, where it
hopes to hire 100, as an addition to its existing customer care operations
center in Los Angeles. According to Wag, it plans to hire agents and
managers in Phoenix to support its customers, walkers, and dog sitters. The
company, led by CEO Hilary Schneider, also employs a third party company in

Santa Monica-based game publisher *Activision <http://www.activision.com>*
says its launch of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 4* on Friday was its "biggest
day one digital release" in its history. Sales numbers and sales volume
were not announced by the company. Activision said digital sales broke the
record set in 2017 by Call of Duty: WWII. Activision did not say what the
overall launch numbers were, and did not announce any details on retail

*HyperX Hits 60M Memory Modules Shipped, $550M Yearly Revenues*

Fountain Valley-based HyperX, the gaming division of Kingston Technology,
says it has now shipped over 60 million memory modules since 2002. The
company said it projects that it will have more than $550M in revenues in
2018. The $550M revenue number includes all products, including its sales
of headsets, keyboards, and mice. HyperX specifically targets gamers with

San Diego-based Alle Biotechnology reported this morning that it has
received a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the
National Institute of General Medical Sciences of NIH. Size of the grant
was not announced. According to Allele, the grant covers the development of
new single-domain nanoantibody (nAb) therapies for the treatment of sepsis.
According to Allele, sepsis and septic shock are among the leading causes

*Stratolaunch Sees Successful Testing*

Mojave- and Seattle-based Stratolaunch, which is backed by Microsoft
co-founder Paul G. Allen, has seen some successful testing of its launch
vehicles, the company said this week. According to Stratolaunch, it has
successfully been flying its vehicles out in the Mojave desert this week,
reaching a top speed of 80 mph for its launch vehicle. The aircraft is
designed for use as a "mobile launch platform" to help carry satellites
