Amgen had been sued by Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals over patent infringement. Sanofi and Regeneron make their own, cholesterol-lowering drug, called Praluent. Amgen, Sanofi, and Regeneron have been battling each other over their respective cholesterol drugs since 2014.
