Venice, California-based GIGXR, a new startup, has acquired the assets of
Pearson Immersive Learning Group, a unit of publishing firm Pearson, and
raised $1M in a seed funding round, the company disclosed today. Financial

El Segundo-based FDH, hardware and replacement parts to commercial and
defense aircraft manufacturers, subcontractors, and others, has announced
another acquisition--its second this week--of BTC Electronic Components.
BTC Electronic Components is a Wake Forest, North Carolina-based
distributor of connectors and accessories focused on aerospace, military
and industrial end markets. Financial details of the acquisition were not

in East Los Angeles, has joined forces HATCHspaces, a group developing real

that it has named Allen Yang, M.D., Ph.D., as its new Senior Vice President

In a continued barrage on Santa Monica-based Ring, Vice has published an
article calling Ring's security "awful". The article complains that Ring
leaves the onus of security on its users--who typically are not
sophisticated enough to set up features like two factor authentication, or
using better passwords. Vice has been running a series of articles on
multiple hacking of Ring cameras--usually due to the choice of poor
passwords or using previously compromised account names and credentials. (

San Diego-based Trust & Will, a startup which offers up online services to
help people create trusts, wills, and guardianships, has raised $6M in a
new funding round, the company said on Tuesday. The Series A funding came
from Link Ventures, Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, Western Technology
Investment, Techstars Ventures, Luma Launch and Halogen Ventures. The
startup had announced $2M in an earlier funding in January of 2019. Trust &

partnered with health plan provider Sutter Health | Aetna, in an effort
which will make house calls available to the plan's members. According to
the two, the deal will provide in-home house calls from Heal, starting

Carlsbad-based molecular diagnostics developer ChromaCode has raised $28M
in a Series C funding, the company announced this morning, in a funding led
by Northpond Ventures. The new funding round also included Windham
Ventures, Moore Venture Partners the California Institute of Technology,
plus New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Domain Associates and Okapi Ventures.
As part of the funding round, ChromaCode said that Pat Smerkers of
