Honey was recently purchased for $4 billion by PayPal. It's unclear why Amazon might be targeting Honey, however, Honey uses affiliate codes as part of its model to provide rebates to users, and likely has been gathering an outsized portion of those e-commerce revenues from online merchants. The new funding came from Fidelity Management & Research Company and JS Capital LLC, along with Foresite Capital and Venrock. According to Element Biosciences, the new funds will go towards accelerating the development of its genomic sequencing products. The company has now raised more than $100M in total.
