North Hollywood-based Yapi, a provider of paperless communications and
account management software for dental practices, says it has raised a
round of growth investment from M33 Growth. Financial details of that
investment were not announced. According to YAPI, it will use the new
funding to build out its account management, customer success, and R&D
teams, plus bolster existing sales and marketing. YAPI's software allows

is acquiring a proprietary telehealth software platform developed by

A new, Los Angeles-based venture capital fund--Mantis--announced on Tuesday
that it has raised $35M in commitments for its debut fund, Mantis Capital
Fund I, LP. The new fund--created by Alex Pall and Drew Taggart of the
musical group The Chainsmokers, says its limited partners include Mark
Cuban, Keith Rabois, Jim Coulter, and Ron Conway. The new investment fund
is being managed by Milan Koch (formerly a venture partner at Base

Orange County-based Violux, a startup developing ultraviolet light (UV-C)
home cleaning devices, announced this morning that it has raised $1.2M in a
seed funding round. The funding was led by Okapi Venture Partners, and also
included Unlock Ventures and Envoy Ventures. Violux says it has developed a
UV-C light disinfection device, designed to fight the COVID-19 coroanvirus
adn other germs, bacteria, and viruses, and which can be used to quickly
