The company said it was awarded a Venture Class Launch Services Demonstration 2 (VCLS Demo 2) contract to place CubeSats into low Earth orbit. The company launched the SiriusXM SXM-7 satellite into space this weekend, in a launch from Florida. Maxar Technologies--which built the satellite for SiriusXM, before delivery to SpaceX for launch--said the satellite is performing properly. The new satellite adds coverage area in North America.
