Size of the funding was not announced. The funding came from Hale Capital Partners. The company said it has developed "covert" item-level supply chain tagging technology, which places tracking information into the "intrinsic surface texture" of the item. The company said that, in reusable mode, the rocket will carry up to 8,000 kilograms to low earth orbit. Rocket Lab is looking to move up in the world, launching larger payloads to space then the company's current ability to put smaller cubesats to space.
