Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. According to the two, EvolVR has more than 40,000 users who use their virtual reality systems for meditation. The $1.1 billion award was vacated by a judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C., who said the award was "not supported by evidence". The patent battle between Caltech and Apple and Broadcom has been raging since 2016, when Caltech sued the two over its data transmission patents.
