The funding was led by Horizons Ventures, and also included opti-electronics company LITEON; ADATA; Foxconn; and an un-named family office from Taiwan. Kneron is led by founder and CEO Albert Liu. The company says its "edge AI" hardware is aimed at helping to provide computing power for edge servers and smart cameras.
