Alexander-
For simple discovery tools I'd add Wellenreiter
(perl script - easily compiled)
and airfart
http://airfart.sourceforge.net/
both of which run on a wide variety of
distro's and chipsets and are typically easier
to get up and running - (but provide
alot less info) than kismet.

Subject: [SOCALWUG] Available Wireless Networks Software for Linux?
Hi all,
Does anybody know of a linux application that will
allow me to see the wireless networks available in a
site.
I am looking for something similar to the one provided
by windows XP where one sees all the available
networks and clicks on one of them to join.
Thanks in advance...
