Looking over what I originally wrote, I see that I said PCI and meant CardBuss - like what a laptop would have - type card. I have a Sony Vaio desktop replacement portable and want to be able to use an external antenna with it. There are hot-spots that I would be able to access if only I had more gain!
Thanks for the tips on the desktop/tower style computers that would have buss slots easy to hand - but PCMCIA or Card Buss is the real trick. Something about Buffalo Wireless come to memory... Or: ZyAIR B-101 & ZyAIR EXT-102 802.11b Wireless PCMCIA Card with Detachable Antenna - Adapter for PCMCIA-compliant notebooks and computers - Detachable antenna design to connect external antenna - Portable antenna design for notebook users - Extend distance and coverage with ZyAIR EXT-102 antenna - 802.1x client software ...but I think there would be quite a market (amongst US anyway) for such a WiFi implementation.
