Hey everyOne,
A part of anti collision is implemented on tag side
including the binary tree protocol. The required hardware for anti
collision is a 8 bit counter and random number generator (with two
possible values 0 or 1). Interrogator application can only use features
of these tow hardware pieces but can't control behavior or
implementation.
According to protocol document there is no fair advantage to
interrogate a set of tags or all tags together. Basically the approach
I want to adopt for reading multiple tags is very straight, software
always consider that there are multiple tags and even if there is a
single tag then also software will treat it more than one. The only
disadvantage of this design can produce slightly more read time in
single tag case.
Pseudocode:
1) Issue GROUP_SELECT_EQ command
2) Wait to process tag response.
3) Issue FAIL command. All tags receiving FAIL command with a
count of 0 (those
that just transmitted) shall generate a random number. Those that roll
a 1 shall increment COUNT and shall not transmit. Those that
roll a zero shall keep
COUNT at zero and shall send their UID again. Figure 3.0.
4) Wait to process tag response.
5) Issue SUCCESS command. A tag shall only accept a SUCCESS
command, if it is in the ID state. In the case that the tag's internal
counter COUNT is not zero, the internal counter shall be decreased by
1. If the resulting COUNT value is 0, then the tag shall read its UID
and sent back it in the response. Figure 3.0.
6) Wait to process tag response and start over.
Ofcourse i didn't deliberately mention RESEND command here which will
in fact improve a little performance.
Thanks for your valuable comments.
