'Starting March 2 2008, all newly activated Verizon EVDO Data plans include overage charges (including tethering plans for cell phones and PDAs)." http://www.evdoforums.com/thread8531.html
if you sign up for the 5 GB per month plan ($59.99), it's 49 cents for each MB over that. On the 50 MB plan ($39.99), it's 99 cents per additional MB. Previously, there was just a threat of having your download speed throttled back for the rest of the month if you were on the "unlimited" plan and went over 5 GB. (I haven't verified if they actually did throttle anyone.) So far, it appears that this applies only to newly activated plans, but my two year contract with VZW is up in the middle of April at which time I'll most likely switch to Sprint. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdKwRdWocco is a video about the answers someone got from two questions about Verizon data charges. VZW gave wrong answers 93% of the time. Do not rely on what they tell you over the phone.
