This "hope" for WiMAX needs to be put into perspective... the cellular
perspective.

This demo was at the CELLULAR industry (CTIA) trade show. WiMAX is
competing against other CELLULAR technologies to allow CELLULAR
companies to provide broadband mobile access using LICENSED frequencies.
All the slick "in car" wireless wizardry was WiFi or Bluetooth LINKED
back to the Internet by a licensed WiMAX CELLULAR system.

What are the possibilities that unlicensed use of WiMAX will soon be
available? Unfortunately... very small.

My prediction: WiMAX will be just another tool used by the entrenched
telco monopoly to force (some would say "crush") all other potential
broadband providers out of the broadband market.
