  I've been using a Magellan MAP 330 for quite some time.  (Got it from
Costco, i think).  been really happy with it.

Keep in mind 2 items when choosing a GPS unit:
1. Antenna - some devices have very poor internal antennas.  some devices
even have external antenna connections for a GPS antenna.
2. Serial Interface - make sure the device has some way to connect to a
serial port (DB9).  The Magellan i use has a "cradle" with 2 cables: one
for DC (cigarette lighter), the other for serial into my laptop.
