That sounds like some customer service drone misinterpreting what he
read somewhere ("... and our guests have access to a WiFi network in
their rooms"). You're paying for the network, you're entitled to use it.

It's scarcely different than how sometimes I'll park in front of a
closed Starbucks to use their WiFi long after the store has closed.
