"Continuing its aggressive effort to consolidate the fixed wireless industry, Fremont-based NextWeb Inc. is planning to acquire a (fixed) wireless Internet service provider in Southern California. NextWeb and Camarillo-based SkyPipeline Inc. are expected to announce their merger, valued at $25 million, at a Feb. 23 industry conference. "This will create absolutely the undisputed largest wireless Internet service provider in California," NextWeb CEO Graham Barnes said in an interview confirming the pending merger."
