Main topic:

Nextweb http://www.nextweb.net, will be presenting at the next
SOCALWUG meeting, Tonight March 25th, 2004:

NextWeb is the nation's largest wireless ISP serving enterprise customers
throughout the state of California. We are cash flow positive and funded
by Kaiser Permanente, Tenet Health, and Monet Capital. We offer T-1s and
fractional DS3 connections that outperform wired T-1 and fractional DS3s
offered by all the major national and regional providers. Our most
popular connection is a synchronous 2Mbps connection that costs only
$500. This connection costs less than other 1.5Mbps full T-1s, yet offers
much lower network latency. Many of our customers receive sub 10ms
latency on our wireless microwave backhauled network.

Second topic:

Radio Mobile is a free and powerful tool for plotting RF patterns and
predicting the performance of radio systems. The software is written for
Microsoft Windows. Using freely available terrain elevation data it can
produce virtual maps. One can also produce 3-D and stereoscopic views,
Fresnel zone analysis as well as flyby animations. Background images can
be merged with scanned maps, satellite photos and MapPoint maps to produce
accurate prediction plots.
