Gosh, I wish I could get excited but I'm afraid I see this as another election-year effort to harvest votes. After the election, the implementation (if it really comes) usually turns out to be another set of regulations that enable another shifting of money from the middle-class to the super-rich, and from the "have-nots" to the "haves". When Bush talks about "Broadband for the People.... " I think it's critical (and yes, I mean CRITICAL) for me to ask, "WHAT PEOPLE ARE REALLY GOING TO BENEFIT FROM THIS?"
Sorry if I seem jaded or sarcastic but I haven't forgottten who is getting rich from the Bush: 1. Tax cuts (the already-wealthy) 2. War in Iraq (Bush big-business buddies who are finance his political campaigns) In my opinion, it's criminality of the highest order. Again, sorry for the political rant.
