Hi, As people mentioned, unlike many other conferences, $80 gets you into ALL the sessions.
I DO recommend that anyone involved with computer security related issues go to defcon (defcon.org) at least ONCE. If you've got the bucks - the quality of the presentations and networking imho is fair better tho at blackhat. (blackhat.com) (it's a LOT more.. ) Unfortunately it looks like I will not be able to make it this year to defcon nor blackhat (a more professional level conference - which charges a lot more - and looks and feels like a more typical conference - please note, I'm not saying that defcon is "unprofessional" - but it's got a much more grass roots feel to it.) [and also congrats Tina on ApacheCon and Blackhat .. I've enjoyed them in the past... ] OK - things to watchout for - the Heat - it's gonna be HOT - but it's a dry heat.. Watch your car, it may have a melt down going there.. or sitting in the parking lot. Recommend: Extra water in your car for you and your car, Hat, Sunscreen (if you're planning to be out), Sunshades for your dash (but not the reflective kind - your laminated window may not be happy with the results... ) towel for your steering wheel.. best! matti ps - anyone going is welcome to attend the sgvlug.org meeting thur 8/12 and give a quick summary or presentation of interesting stuff you saw there (linux or opensource related would be nice)
