It's not necessary to use Freeradius since MS Windows Server 2000/2003 includes a Radius service as an option. The MS Radius implementation is called Internet Authentication Service (IAS) and can be configured to support 802.1x/WPA. It's not installed by default, you'll need to add into "Add/Remove Windows Components". You'll also need the MS Certificate Authority installed. There are many papers available on the Microsoft web site on performing this deployment.

I've deployed this in an AD environment and it works very well.

On Behalf Of Janakan Rajendran

Hello everyone,

Can I use windows 2003 AD with FreeRADIUS? I’d like to use single logon for my domain. So that first the users get authenticated by 802.1x & EAP. The same credentials to be used for logon to the domain if the FreeRADIUS supports AD. Is it possible? Would be glad if someone share information on configuring the same?

Is there any technical constraints involved in this?

Thx in advance.
