The downside that the FCC is paranoid about is that you can then broadcast on all frequencies, essentially creating cacophony that could kill any value of software defined radio. Don't get me wrong, I see a huge advantage to this software defined radios (worked with them on a project with Motorola actually), but it's not like there aren't some downsides. -- Chris
