Dear All, The SOCI 4 had been cooking very slowly for a very long time but we have managed to release it, finally! Congratulations all and my special thanks go to Vadim Zeitlin for his continuous contributions and support.
Meanwhile, my software development "life" has moved outside of SOCI and I have been finding myself using SOCI in my own and work projects less and less. This greatly affected my readiness to address SOCI issues and remain invested into SOCI development. I can't give SOCI the time it deserves. I have not been BDFL of SOCI. I have only served as maintainer and release manager doing my best to keep the project operating on the Open Source defaults of "rough consensus and running code", after IETF: We reject kings, presidents and voting. We believe in rough consensus and running code. -The Tao of the IETF Anyone who is actively interested in the development of SOCI, you can shape the future of the project, you can maintain it, you can release it. I still hold keys giving access to numerous knobs in the project, CI services, SourceForge services, and other admin areas. If anyone is interested in becoming the project maintenance, please stepping forward here on the list and I will be happy to hand over the "reins". I'd like to thank Maciej Sobczak for offering his mentorship to a C++ rookie almost two decades ago. I'd also like to thank all the SOCI contributors for the great work done. p.s. I will remain subscribed to this list for some time.
