There is :) sadly it's easier on Wikipedia ;). An admin has to manually
scroll through the comments, then you can  hide the comment (which only
shows it to the user and their friends) then if you want you can actually
delete and/or ban the user. Add to the infinite scrolling slowness etc and
I kinda prefer the mediawiki system (for all it's flaws) which at least
makes it easier to discover the spam.

I know Michael goes through occasionally to clean it up but since you
mentioned I just went through the past few days :)
