I tried to do a bit of an A/B test, targeting the SNL post by topics (people who the show, sketch comedy, NBS, Lorne Michaels) so we could compare it to the movie star post, which was targeted to India. But the interest targeting didn't stick. It went out to everyone. : ( We can try an A/B test again soon.
In general I think you geo target when your guess is that people in other countries wouldn't really care; you target by interest when you think people with those interests really would care. #socialmedianerdery Jeff Elder Digital communications manager Wikimedia Foundation 704-650-4130 @jeffelder <https://twitter.com/JeffElder> @wikipedia <https://twitter.com/wikipedia> The Wikimedia blog <https://blog.wikimedia.org/> On Sun, Oct 11, 2015 at 10:33 AM, James Alexander <[email protected]> wrote: > Yeah, i was trying to decide if we'd get more "quantity" engagement with > the broader audience but I don't know where the line (if there is one) of > "10% engagement of 1M is better then 25% engagement of 100k" etc. never > really dug into that so imagine Jeff and you all know that better :). > > Sent from my iPhone > > > James Alexander > Legal and Community Advocacy > Wikimedia Foundation > +1 415-839-6885 x6716 > > > On Oct 11, 2015, at 13:23, Joe Sutherland <[email protected]> > wrote: > > I think with these things we're looking for more engagement, rather than > more audience.
