Hi John

Unfortunately these suggestions did not work in my hands.

When I dragged the *.prn file to the printer icon and tried to drop it, I received an error message saying something like: "This file cannot be printed. Open it and ....."
If you try to open it then Windows XP asks "what with?" or words to that effect.

Thanks anyway, for trying to help. James

A lot of printer dialogue boxes give you the option to "Print to File" instead of selecting one of the printers listed.
I decided to try this option and "Printed my Document to File" , saving it as Test.prn (the .prn extension is compulsory, not something I made up"
Now I have this *.prn file, I don't know what to do with it. If I click on it, Windows does not know how to open it (Win XP, by the way), and I can't see any way of sending it to any of my printers.

If anyone knows how to use the "Print to File" option, I would be pleased to hear from them.

A) Start->Printers and Faxes. Drag the file to the printer.

B) From the Command Prompt
   copy filename.prn lpt1:

   (Substitute appropriate name for lpt1:)

C) From the Command Prompt
   print /d:lpt1: filename.prn

   (Again, substitute on lpt1:)

I don't know if any of these will work. They did on OS/2.
