I don't know whether to fume or laugh. So, I decided to laugh, and share what happened.

My offer to speak at a small local trade fair on OpenOffice.org was just turned down. Here's the reason:

"I decided not to go with the openoffice topic because microsoft chose to focus on the area of windows in an open source world. While the content of your presentation would be vastly different, I only had room for one windows vs. linux presentation."

I won't bother pointing out that the volume of ignorance is turned up to max here. It's interesting, though, that Microsoft should find it worthwhile to address such a topic.
