As far as I learnt from a recent book about Mayan languages, there are
about 8,000,000 speakers around Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, Guatemala,
Belize, Honduras and El Salvador, where Mayan civilization developed.
Mayan language is not a single language but there are about 30
different mayan languages.
