Isn't Open Source about being "out of step with the views of the great majority"? I mean, the truly great majority use Microsoft. The great majority use Windows and Office. The great majority save their files as .doc.
Everytime I bring up the views of the great majority - I'm told popularity does not make it right. But you use the same excuse to tell me to get in line or shut up and leave.
You know, not long ago the view of the great majority was that the world was flat and the sun revolved around it. The Majority isn't always right.
But basically, since I'm "different" I either have to change or leave. Doesn't sound like a very "enlightened" or "tolerant" to me.
Thanks for showing your true colors, Ian.

You are missing the point. You see yourself as adding balance and
enlightening, others see it as disloyal. We are all well aware of MS's
key strengths, what is at issue is that you are out of step with the
views of the great majority, its your problem to resolve. We can only
tell you what it looks like from here. You can accept that and do
something about it or justify your position and nothing will change.
