Is that the peer-to-peer thing? I abandoned the Bitorrent/Azureus
thing when we moved recently. No cable, too far for DSL, so now I
have a satellite hook-up. Speed's ok, latency takes some getting used
to, but I have a 10 G byte limit per month and their website said p2p
will knock you over the limit. No extra charge but they throttle your
connnection if you go over. How much traffic does that generate?
I'm 99% sure that it's not p2p. Based on my current understanding, you
can expect single a 6MB upload every month or two (whenever your
computer is done with a model). In the mean time, your computer will
send a small package to the server about once or twice a day to tell
it that you're still alive and how far along you are. This is not
necessary and you can unplug the internet cable if you like. The only
transfer necessary is the bi-monthly 6MB upload. See here:
Yeah, I don't see how p2p would work for this either. Everybody gets
different models to chew on. The website mentioned something about peer
to peer, but it sounded more like a social club. I'm just not clear on
what you mean by "trickle". Maybe I didn't see that page.

There are also some network settings you can use (see below).
The model, however, can take up a fair bit of disk space. On my
computer it is already at 200MB. But you can tune the software to tell
it how much disk space it's allowed to have. Go here:
Mine's at 130 MB, but I don't care. I have a few gigs to spare.
