Capital represents, in large part, the labor of earlier generations. Labor, the productive effort of those now engaged in it. Under patriarchy, the accumulated labor of the father is handed down to the son.
There is always some inequity in this because the son only receives that which the father has, still has, after his debts are settled. And as we all know, the justice of the process is affected by the fraud which was perpetrated by, or upon, the father. What grates the laborer, is that he hasta compete with the accumulated labor which some sons have inherited. But by the same token, that wealth is a measure of the craftsmanship, or lack thereof, in those currently employed.
