You've got a negative mindset, Michael. Haven't you heard of "win-win"? It isn't either or. Nothing is taken away from anybody. The "enemies of change" are those like yourself with the inability to think out of the box. The first trench that each of us faces is to get past that negativity. As to paying off the federal debt, it is always being paid off because it is always being amortized. The United States government has never defaulted on its debt and never will. The necessity for taking on that debt will fade away over time as the "flaw" in the system of national accountancy is corrected. Unless that flaw IS corrected, "paying down" the debt as you advocate would cause economic collapse since it is presently the crutch that keeps the economy going. I notice that your "reform" is just another tax scheme that doesn't even begin to touch the financial aspect of the matter and hence has no relationship to social credit whatsoever. I see no point in continuing this discussion.

Somebody always loses. You mentioned that "churning" would decrease. Who benefits from the churning?
I am asking these questions because an undistinguished adversary is more dangerous than an identified one. If the enemies of change are called out, it is possible to take the "first trench."
I am still not sure on the debt question, but will read the chapter provided. However, I don't think you are understanding how I would pay off the debt and fund net interest with progressive income taxes on incomes over $100K per year - and how these taxpayers might buy bonds strategically to prepay their taxes.
