I've attempted to communicate with Zarlenga for the past three years. He is certainly aware of Douglas and social credit and its historical impact, which is not inconsiderable. He's not that stupid. Even if all of my messages were automatically routed to the trash can and he never saw one of them, Geoffrey Gardiner and Kevin Donnelly have mentioned Douglas often enough on Gang8 for him not to have missed it. It's the dog that didn't bark.
He is a Georgist involved with several Georgist organizations, and probably funded by them (they have huge endowments) as was Hudson. If that has something to do with the "dog that didn't bark" phenomenon, I can only surmise.
Regardless of the conspiracy theory aspect to Quigly, his financial discussions are very social credit- like. That is readily apparent to anyone familiar with Douglas.
I remember that Douglas in one of his addresses said that he was informed that it was mandated that his name not be mentioned. I referred you to Hayek who refuted A+B by using as his foil and surrogate the work of the Americans, Foster and Catchings. At the time, the early 1930s, Hayek was affiliated with the London School of Economics and he was himself residing in London. For Hayek to be completely unaware of Douglas at that time seems like another dog that didn't bark. The economics of the "Austrians" and "Georgists" are closely related in that they are both rigid extensions of the classical school.
The fact that Zarlenga mentions Pound and not Douglas suggests certain conclusions. The Georgists were reputedly affiliated with the Nazis (Geoffrey Gardiner says so, at any rate), as was Pound definitely. Being the libertarian that he was, Douglas was strongly opposed to the Nazis and took every opportunity to belittle them. He effectively purged Pound from the social credit movement with the derogatory comments on Mussolini inserted into the text of his third book, *Social Credit* published in 1924.
Perhaps the Georgists have "bad blood" with Douglas that has long provenance.

The book does not mention Social Credit or Douglas, and the author (with whom I have corresponded extensively) does not seem to be aware of the connection between the research he has assembled here and the ideas of Douglas. I would post it here and now if it were finished, but it is not and I can't do it right now.
