> MAJOR DOUGLAS ON THE LAND QUESTION > The following comments are taken from C. H. Douglass The Land for the > (Chosen) People Racket written serially in The Social Crediter between > December 1942 and March 1943 This is an astonishing document (astonishing because I am a great admirer of Douglas's economic and monetary analysis). How can Douglas, being so competent on one of the two fundamental natural monopolies, be so wrong about the second? It sounds like a bicycle mechanic, expert on back wheels, describing a square wheel for the front. According to the summary presented, Douglas seems to have no conception of the unique nature of land and other natue-provided resources on which all economic activity depends. Having dismissed the principle that users of natural resources should pay a fee (tax is an inappropriate term here) to the community in return for the advantage they extract, the rest of the comments are largely irrelevant or over complicated. I am really puzzled. Am I missing something in this account? Janos -- Evolution is happening here and now; The capacity for foresight in the human species is its latest innovation. --^---------------------------------------------------------------- This email was sent to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] EASY UNSUBSCRIBE click here: http://topica.com/u/?a84IaC.bcVIgP.YXJjaGl2 Or send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] TOPICA - Start your own email discussion group.
