The backward compatible includes are in include/socketcan to not mix up with
include/linux. Copying the stuff in kernel/2.6/include/linux will fail as all
the source in the SVN (in net/can, drivers/net/can) depends on the socketcan
includes.

Yes i compile-checked it also with a 2.6.24.4 a few minutes ago.
But i did not use the Makefile for that before 8->
