I'm 'close' -- in that pfsense actually *starts* to boot (init via pxeboot/tftp, kernel via nfs) but then dies at an nfs error. Waiting on an answer. As for CF-only use. Imho, a 4801 is vast overkill. For a flash-based device, a Broadcom-based SOHO router (e.g., Buffalo, ASUS, Linksys) modded with a 3rd-party firmware (e.g., OpenWRT, Sveasoft, DD-WRT) is a very cost-effective, functional solution. But, I understand that needs/reqs differ. Also, from a price perspective, a decent CF card is ~ what, $20-30-ish? A 40Gb, 5400 rpm, 2.5" Hitachi Travelstar is ~ $35-45. Seemed a clear choice to me. > Anyway, Good luck! Thanks.
