Two ports, one for the regular data output, the other is usually for DGPS
input. I couldn't find any sort of manual or spec sheet so I'm really at a
loss.

All GPS software expects data to be sent via a serial port, be it a real one
or an emulated port (for usb).

Why do you want it to be a mini-pci, just for compactness?

I'm not a big fan of the SiRF chips, nothing I have used (except for their
sirf demo) recognized sirf binary, and the NMEA mode can often be a second
or two behind if you plan on using it for a time source.
