Thank you all who replied, including Paul who replied off list. I will be rebuilding a circuit with a PNP transistor circuit as I can't have this project default to on for 20 seconds while the machine boots, it needs to start off.
As it happens I do also have a purpose for a NPN version of this circuit. So all is not lost. I think I may have let a tiny bit of blue smoke out through my experiementation, as GPIO00 to GND now reads 3.57v instead of 3.3v, and the relay circuit wont actuate. Although with a multimeter everything appears to behave it's self. I think I still have one of those kids electronics kits under the bed that I can use to prototype with and see if I really have let the smoke out. Many thanks all, I've definatly learnt something from all the replys. Peter. _______________________________________________ Soekris-tech mailing list [email protected] http://lists.soekris.com/mailman/listinfo/soekris-tech
